Overview

This blog is about my own personal experiences of Pakistan and my related thoughts…it has a somewhat political angle to it, as it more about the macro conditions of the nation rather than my (more) mundane day to day activites…the logic behind is is probably best described in the first entry, aptly titled “Rationilization” – if you are going to humor me, i recommend you read that first to get a flavour of where i am coming from.  I would apprecaite any thoughts, criticisms, ideas, jokes, comments, insults that you may have to offer… .

    Hello Hassan,

Very interesting blog. From what i gather, you have returned to Pakistan, hardly been a year and you are standing for elections for Tehrik-e-Insaaf? True?

    Hi Afshan,

Am glad you were not bored to tears…most of what you say in your comment is accurate…about the elections bit…there is nothing planned of that sort at this stage……currently the basic aim is just contribution…of some sort!

    Regards,
    Hassan

    Wow. ok.
Ha ha, no not bored to tears.
Hmm, my cousin was (maybe is?) with TeI in the last elections. He lost the elections though from his area in Karachi.
Ok, so just a bit curious now; your contribution is towards the “society”? :p
im sorry if this is bugging you but just want to know why you would join a political party in Pakistan, that too considering you have just been here for a short while. people usually run away from any sort of political associations here…

No..not bothering me at all…in fact this was the aim of the blog…to solicit feedback and interaction…

Why politics? well it is not the only way to contribute, but in my view is one of the very few ways to make a sustainable change…even though it may take time…but if objectives are achieved it can make a long-term and profound difference…so it seemed like an appropriate avenue. Why people shy away from politics – i am not sure….perhaphs they feel that it is a dirty game, full of insincere and corrupt people….and don’t want to be associated with it….well they may have a point…but it isn’t going to change if no attempts to change it are made….

    Make sense? good :)
